Southern Thai Team Retreat pic

Caleb enjoyed his time at the beach for the team retreat. He had friends to play with other than his parents or other adults!
Lunch at an Isan (region in Northeastern Thailand) restuarant. We went through John Piper's DVD study "When I don't Desire God- How to Fight for Joy." It was a good time with the team. In this picture, from the front going R-L are: Vicki, Caleb, Rich, Eric & Trisha Mullis, Michael Hughes, Matt Malone, Linda & Richard Blout.

Creepy-Crawly

This is a centipede (tak-ahp) which we estimate to be about 7 inches long. We found two in our house this day. Vicki found the first one- just about to die from whatever centipedes die from- in the guest room. Our neighbors told us that their sting is painful enough to make you cry for three days and three nights. That night we took this picture after the fellow you see pictured above woke Rich up just after midnight as it's antannae tickled the right side of his neck. The resulting tussle woke Vicki up and she switched the light on to reveal the critter on top of Rich's pillow which had fallen onto the floor by the bed. We were quite grateful we avoided a sting. Although it was hard to crawl back into bed and get any sleep, we have not seen another centipede in the house. It had rained really hard that day, so we think the rain drove them inside.
